Hi!

My name is Hilke and I am the knitter behind Haalu – The Ugly Bunny.

My knitting journey began in 2012 when I made the decision to learn how to knit socks. I first attempted to learn how to knit by reading books about it but I failed greatly.
After finding some YouTube video tutorials I was finally able to complete my first knitting project: my own pair of socks! I still own that pair and to this day it is still one of my favorite pairs.

And that is exactly the reason why a few years later I started making my own YouTube tutorials.
I want to make sock knitting feel less intimidating for beginners or even people who want to learn how to knit.

Few things compare to the feeling of accomplishment that I feel when I wear something that I made for myself or the joy that I get from gifting something handmade.
